Sales Kickoff

I was at our annual sales kick off today. My usual perception of a sales kickoff is about telling the salespeople, thank you for your past contribution, its a new start and we need you to work your ass off to hit your quota. Here's lunch and pls get your engine started straight after you have finished your meal.

However, it the midst of delivering the message, I've managed to learn some stuff- from our inspirational speaker, Mr Butt Wai Choon, Alex. Alex was sharing abt his 17 yrs of corporate life in Microsoft- a transition from a individual contributor to the GM of Malaysia.

I'm gonna document these pointers down, in hope that you will gain some insights, just like I've learnt from this motivational person.

1. Hear your heart. There's no point to be able to see but not being able to feel. Trust your gut feeling.

2. If you can make your boss successful, you will be successful.

3. Organization changes are a fact of life, take it in your stride and move on.

4. Soldier vs commander. You can be the best soldier in your team but to make a greater impact to the battle, you have to become a commander. Cos being a commander, you will gain the ability to make an impact.

5. Whatever that is keeping you awake, you better go solve it before it haunts you.

6. How bad do you want it?? If you want it real bad, scarifices need to be made.

7. What is your one thing?? That one thing that you want in life.

End Note : Accountability is about the results while responsibility is about the actions.
